Well this's base off a franchise and in the Strike Witches + Brave Witches universe but there is not really any source material on this. Which this has no manga or LN story material to adapt from, it probably has a game or artwork done from this but no story so it's a original anime. Also Livechart and MAL has this as a original.
Just like Yashahime is or was a original anime before getting a manga even though it's a spinoff from Inuyasha. Or ZHime (Mai Otome) which at it's time is to was a original which is a spinoff reboot from Mai Hime.

Its a surplus of mana sifting from the engine rotor. The 501st and 502nd fighter wings also had this, though their contrails were a uniform colour when shown.

Its conjecture, but I'd assume the reason the Luminous witches' give off such a unique looking contrail is because their striker units were modified or its simply because they were training units not intended for combat use.

Mana with her giant yellow shield! She’s way too free spirited and carefree lol. I like how Maria is going drill instructor mode and is having such a tough time managing the team. Her little familiar imitating her lecturing everyone was adorable!

The stress of Mana and Maria fighting caused the little Kiwi to balloon. The familiars must be really connected to the girls. Didn’t expect Maria with her “Mana! Respect my authority!” Lol. Mana was so upset she only ate one meal!

I was wondering why Maria was so hesitant to talk about flying. I forgot she had difficulty with it. But looks like it might have just been in her head. Seeing her and Mana flying together was so cute! I’m glad our little Kiwi goofball was able to help her out of her funk.

I really liked the end there with Aira struggling with the shield, it was pretty funny. “What does it mean to feel like a wave!” Haha.

How cute Maria is when she's trying to avoid the topic by misdirecting her attention to the food.
I now find my favorite in this World Witches title. Maria is such a charming girl. Despite her flaws by having weak mana and body she still works hard for the sake of others and cares for her friends. Now that I think about it. I do like the blondes in World Witches as they are strong willed and got a sense of pride and duty.

So if in SW the one with strongest mana in their squad is Yoshiko, in BW is Georgette then here in LW would be Manaia.

Awesome episode, its great to see how supportive Mana is of Maria, she's such a wonderful free spirit. Maria's growth this episode was well written also.

While I appreciate the sentiment and attempt to flesh out these characters, the ending of this episode was not very strong. Maria is bad at flying so she wanted to avoid flying at all cost but the thing that makes her good in the end is just motivation? She doesn't actually need to train because she's not actually bad? Is it just supposed to be a self esteem issue? At the end it seems she means she's bad in stamina but the rest of the episode made it seem like she was bad overall. Again, the sentiment here is strong but the actual logic seems very flawed.

I do like the in world logic for the shields changing colors. Any witch can do it but there is no need and it's inefficient so they never learn.

Folks, can I ask, does the subtitle gets blurry for you folks? It happens to me a lot, I try to switch streaming servers, but is happinv on the gogo server for every anime.
